Organization
Wesley Christian School is an integral part of the ministry of the Allen Christ United Methodist Church and operates under the church bylaws. A School Board, comprised of six members, meets regularly, although not directly involved in daily school operations. As necessary, the Board does participate in decisions of policy, procedure, and school discipline. The Board is responsible for calling a Superintendent, whose job is to manage the school on a day-to-day basis. The Superintendent works closely with the School Board and the Senior Pastor to provide leadership to the total Christian Education Program of the school.
Philosophy, Purpose, and Goals
The philosophy of Wesley Christian School is Christ-centered. We believe that we must be Bible-oriented and dedicated to the proposition that every student is worthy of individual time, effort, and prayer.
The purpose of Wesley Christian School is to provide a Christian environment in which each student will have the opportunity to hear the plan of salvation, to receive Christ as their personal Savior, and to develop a positive Christian philosophy for living. We believe that by promoting high academic standards, we help enable our students to function effectively in the world that awaits them.
Among the goals of Wesley Christian School are the following: 1.) help develop in students good habits, 2.) build in students Christian attitudes, 3.) ensure the safety of every student. We trust that these characteristics will establish the Spiritual, mental, emotional, and social maturity of our students. The training of children is regarded as the joint responsibility of the home, the church, and the school. Whenever these three institutions operate in the same direction, Christian character is developed.
